Fall Festival was so much fun. Marcia Tipton (Dylan K5) did a wonderful job organizing everything. We appreciate each of the parents and grandparents who donated items as well as those of you who volunteered your time to help make this day so special for our kids. Please e-mail me (Angel O'Neal) a picture of your kiddos at the fall festival so that I can post them on the blog. www.asburymethodistpre@gmail.com
Cookie fundraiser was very successful. We raised $2,000 for our school through the cookie orders. Thank you Ali De La Cruz for the time that you spent on this project. Mrs Kathy's and Mrs Sherry's class were the top sellers and will be having a pizza party! Be on the look out for pick-up and distribution information for our cookies over the next couple of weeks.
What's happening in November?

What a BUSY week.
Picture Day went flawless. Patrick and Artana Mooney (Peyton 3's) did a fantastic job capturing your child's smiling face. We as a school appreciate all of the hard work and time you guys put into our school pictures. The order form will be coming out soon to purchase these pictures and please remember that this is also a fundraiser for the school.
The annual Pumpkin Patch was yesterday, October 20th, and the kids had a BLAST! Thank you Leigh Foster (Ryleigh, 2H) for putting together an amazing Pumpkin Patch. The children picked their favorite pumpkins, laughed at the silly scarecrow, and listen to Mrs. Suzie read a book. Patrick Mooney captured some great pictures of your kids enjoying the festivities for our yearbook and I will be uploading some on the blog!Make sure to allow your child to decorate their precious little pumpkin. Do not cut or carve this pumpkin in any way. Return your child's pumpkin to school for them to share with their class and to be displayed at the Fall festival.
Cookie dough fundraiser is due today. If you were unable to return your form today we will still take them up until Tuesday, October 25th. There will be a special pizza party for the class that brings in the most orders. The money that is raised will be used to continue to make furniture and classroom improvements. Checks should be made payable to Asbury Preschool and Kindergarten. If you prefer not to sell any of these items, we would appreciate a monetary contribution of $25.00 or more. Orders will arrive the week of November 11.
The Fall Festival will be next week, Friday October 28. Marcia Tipton has worked very hard to put together a fantastic day for you and your kids! Please plan to spend the entire day with your kid, there will be no aftercare or extended care. Drop off with be at 9:00 to your child's regular classroom and then they will come out in parade style in their costumes. Be sure to dress your child in a non-scary costume without a mask! Patrick Mooney will be taking pictures of your child in their costume for purchase if you wish.
We are asking for 10$ donations per family to help cover the cost of special visitors and the hot dog lunch. If you are able to contribute prizes and wrapped candy there is a bin set up at the school in the hallway to places your item in. Set-up will begin at 8am and your child can stay in free early care during this time! Clean-up will happen immediately after the festival and the more people we have to help the faster and easier it will go for everyone. There is a sign up sheet hanging up outside of your child's classroom to work one of the games or activities, PLEASE help us make this day a special and memorable experience for your child. Your kiddo can walk around with their teacher while you are working the game or they can stay and help with you. The Parent/Grandparent/Aunt/Uncle volunteer's make this day a success!
There is still room for your child to participate in afternoon activities if you have yet to get them involved in one of our great programs.
Box Top collection is going great. Make sure to count and place the box tops in a bag. Label the bag with your childs name and the number of tops and turn them in to the bag attached to the bulletin board.
We are looking for volunteers for the yearbook, see Mrs. Susie if you are able to help. This is a great way that working parents who aren't able to make it to some of our many activities during the day to still be involved in our school.

Spring Fling 2011
This was the first year for Asbury to offer the students a fun filled SPRING FLING!
The weather could not have been any more perfect for this event!
Creative time, making bunny masks!

Playing with the parachute was lots of fun!
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE SCREAM!!!

Enjoying the ice cream!

.

Mrs. Susie & Pastor Steve join in the fun with an Egg Toss.

Mrs. Stewart joins in too!
Chapel time outside at the end of the Spring Fling to release the butterflies.

To conclude the day Pastor Steve told the children about how butterflies are a symbol of life and a resemblance to Jesus as our Risen Savior and then the children released butterflies.
We can only hope we will be blessed in 2012 with nice weather and as much enjoyment as today. Thanks to all the volunteers.

Story Book Fun Day
Story Book Fun Day was a hit again this year! We had many great costumes with a lot of creativty in making your child part of their favorite story. The book exchange went well. Most children got to pick out 4 or 5 (new to them), gently used books to take home to read. Thanks to all that helped organize and make the day run smoothly. We couldn't have done it withouth the help of the parents.
